On National Voter Registration Day, Democratic Party of Georgia Chair Congresswoman Nikema Williams released the following statement:

“My friend, mentor and predecessor, the late icon Congressman John Lewis, told us that ‘Democracy is not a state; it is an act.’ That’s why I encourage all eligible Georgians to check their voter registration status and make a plan to cast their ballot at IWillVote.com.

“Republicans are trying to silence Georgia voters – from encouraging mass voter eligibility challenges designed to get people thrown off the rolls to trying to give themselves power to refuse to certify elections if they don’t like the results. It has never been more critical that we make our voices heard. We must elect Vice President Harris and Governor Walz, who will fight for our families, our freedoms, and our future.”

Georgians can find out how to register to vote and access important, state-specific voting information on IWillVote.com and VoyAVotar.com for voting information in Spanish.
