In true messy primary fashion, “MAGA warrior” Rep. Buddy Carter, MAGA extremist Rep. Mike Collins, and failed and fired former Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley, immediately jumped on the opportunity to take a “swipe” at each other after officially qualifying for the ballot.

Carter, Collins, and Dooley appeared at the State Capitol — some without any fanfare or groups of supporters backing them — to file their paperwork on Monday and Tuesday.

The entirety of the GOP U.S. Senate primary has been defined by the brutal infighting that has made the race “combustible” and guaranteed that the eventual nominee will be badly bruised and battered for a general election.

“Buddy Carter, Mike Collins, and Derek Dooley have made this primary a complete and utter mess with their constant infighting, and qualifying week was proof that they’re not changing course heading into May 19th,” said Democratic Party of Georgia Senior Communications Advisor Devon Cruz.
