Help Move Georgia Forward
After record-setting primary numbers, polling continues to show Perdue struggling as Ossoff and Democrats surge across the state
ATLANTA — Today, a newly released poll once again showed that “Georgia is in play” in 2020 after Jon Ossoff’s “clear win” in the Georgia primary. The most recent numbers again show Ossoff leading Senator David Perdue following a recent trend of polls that have found Ossoff either leading or statistically tied with the incumbent senator.
Check out the highlights:
Georgia Democrats set a record last week with the highest Senate primary turnout ever — besting Republicans by thousands of votes despite widespread voter suppression. Now, as Democratic enthusiasm continues to grow, political experts are taking notice and upgrading Democrats’ chances in the race, proving Perdue’s infamous admission that “Georgia is in play” as “the Democrats have made it that way.”
“After last week’s record-setting primary results, this latest poll confirms a strong trend in the race toward Jon Ossoff and the Democratic ticket across the state,” said Alex Floyd, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Georgia. “Georgia Democrats have the enthusiasm and the numbers to win in November. Unfortunately for Senator David Perdue, his Washington special interest backers don’t get a vote in Georgia.”
