Video Comes As Rep. MTG Continues Slamming House Republicans for Skipping Work

Today, ahead of open enrollment starting on November 1st, the Democratic Party of Georgia released a new video spotlighting how GOP U.S. Senate candidates Reps. Buddy Carter and Mike Collins have skipped out on work in DC for over a month after shutting down the government over their opposition to extending critical ACA tax credits for 1.4 million Georgians.

While Carter and Collins can’t even bother to show up to work, their constituents face potential average ACA premium increases of 296% and 345%, respectively, for an average 60-year-old couple.

95% of the Georgians who get their insurance on the ACA Marketplace rely on the tax credits to afford their plans.

“Buddy Carter and Mike Collins haven’t been to work in a month while 1.4 million Georgians are wondering whether or not they can expect to see their ACA premiums skyrocket,” said Democratic Party of Georgia Senior Communications Advisor Devon Cruz. “If Buddy Carter and Mike Collins won’t even show up to the jobs they already have to protect affordable health care for Georgians, they certainly don’t deserve a promotion to the U.S. Senate.”
