Demand for investigation follows alarming recent report of possible corruption and abuse of Georgians’ tax payer dollars

State Representative Floyd Griffin held a press conference to demand that Governor Kemp open an independent investigation in the upcoming special session after reports uncovered a possible corruption and pay-to-play politics scandal between GOP U.S. Senate candidate Derek Dooley and Governor Kemp.

According to the reporting, state records showed that Governor Kemp helped line up tens of millions of Georgia taxpayer dollars for the Dooley family and then received over $100,000 to his PAC, which he then used to boost Derek Dooley’s U.S. Senate campaign.

Rep. Griffin’s call comes after state lawmakers gathered in Atlanta to hold a press conferencereleasing their demand for an independent investigation that was signed by dozens of state representatives and state senators.

“I stand with my colleagues in the House and Senate as we demand Gov. Kemp open an independent investigation into Centegix and no bid contracts during this month’s special session,” said State Representative Floyd Griffin. “Georgians deserve answers to the possible corruption and pay-to-play politics that has occurred under Gov. Kemp’s administration, in support of the Dooleys, and now Derek Dooley’s Senate campaign.”
