Jackson will campaign with Trump in Cobb County on Wednesday.
New reporting from CBS Atlanta underscores Rick Jackson’s “alignment with the president’s policies” and how Jackson will push the MAGA agenda no matter how much it hurts Georgians.
With Jackson set to campaign alongside Trump during his visit to Cobb County on Wednesday, Zachary Bynum of CBS Atlanta writes that the joint appearance “is expected to further highlight [Jackson’s] alignment with the president’s policies as the governor’s race heats up.”
CBS Atlanta also reports that “the president has continued to make the state a focal point of his public appearances,” which comes as Trump has attacked Georgia’s elections and Jackson has backed his MAGA conspiracy theories every step of the way. The AJC has previously reported that Jackon has “echoed the president’s false claims of widespread election fraud.”
Jackson has also strongly supported Trump’s policies that have jacked up costs for Georgia families, telling the AJC that he “couldn’t name a single White House policy he disagrees with.” He admitted to supporting Trump’s Big Ugly Bill because it lowered his taxes – even as it kicked 500,000 Georgians off their healthcare – and also supporting Trump’s tariffs that have been a “gut punch” to Georgia small businesses because he personally profited off these tax increases.
It should come as no surprise that Jackson would go out of his way to join Trump, given how closely he has aligned himself with the president throughout his campaign. Jackson has pledged to be “Trump’s favorite governor” and that he will be “Trump with a Southern tone.”
