Rick Jackson is the ultimate insider – and new campaign financial disclosures released Friday reveal just how deeply Jackson’s insider connections are fueling his campaign:
- Jackson took $108,950 from nearly two dozen lobbyists and 16 different lobbying firms.
- Jackson took $447,276 from state contractors or employees of state contractors, as he’s faced questions and scrutiny throughout this campaign for his own enrichment on over a billion dollars in state healthcare contracts – much of it in the form of no-bid contracts.
“Jackson desperately wants to sell himself as an outsider, but his new financial disclosures reveal that he and his campaign are benefiting from his deep lobbyist and insider connections,” said Democratic Party of Georgia spokesperson Jake Strickland. “For years, Jackson has personally profited off the same policies that are screwing working Georgians, and now he thinks he can come in and buy the Governor’s Mansion – but Georgians are sick and tired of the rigged system that has allowed Jackson to get rich on the backs of taxpayers, and we’re going to make that clear in November.”
