Dark money has flooded Georgia’s GOP gubernatorial primary, with secretive group Georgians for Integrity having spent millions on anti-Burt Jones ads that have become “nearly inescapable to many Georgians” and which have fueled intense infighting among the Republican candidates.
Now, new data reveals that the mysterious group has spent $13.5 million in just the past few months attacking Jones’ long record of self-enrichment in public office – and has no plans to stop.

This new data comes as serious questions have been raised about the source of the ads, igniting further chaos within the Republican primary. Last week, the AJC reported on explosive revelations that an aide for Jones’ GOP rival Chris Carr sent a Republican activist a link to the first ad from Georgians for Integrity – two days before the ads actually began running.
That set off the latest round of infighting in what’s quickly become a fast-accelerating race to the right, and which has clearly rattled Jones, who has spent months trying to convince Atlanta-based TV stations and the FCC to pull down the ads. It also comes as Jones has continued to go full MAGA to defend himself against the wave of attacks, strongly defending Trump’s FBI raid of Fulton County’s elections operations center and sharing a video on X Thursday night touting his endorsement from Trump.
