Demand for investigation follows alarming recent report of possible corruption and abuse of Georgians’ tax payer dollars
State Representative David Sampson held a press conference to demand that Governor Kemp open an independent investigation in the upcoming special session after reports uncovered a possible corruption and pay-to-play politics scandal between GOP U.S. Senate candidate Derek Dooley and Governor Kemp.
According to the reporting, state records showed that Governor Kemp helped line up tens of millions of Georgia taxpayer dollars for the Dooley family and then received over $100,000 to his PAC, which he then used to boost Derek Dooley’s U.S. Senate campaign.
Rep. Sampson’s call comes after state lawmakers gathered in Atlanta to hold a press conferencereleasing their demand for an independent investigation that was signed by dozens of state representatives and state senators.

“The great citizens of the state of Georgia deserve an explanation,” said Rep. David Sampson. “We’re asking that the Governor open an independent investigation so the people will know exactly what’s going on.”
