Earlier today, Rep. Mike Collins voted again to gut Medicaid, which provides health care for over two million Georgia kids and families.

Collins voted today to advance the Republican budget, which is projected to slash Medicaid by $1.72 billion for roughly 137,500 Georgians in his district who rely on Medicaid for life-saving health care and medicine.

“This isn’t some abstract concept: Mike Collin’s vote today will have hugely negative effects on the health of his own constituents,” said DPG spox. “In Georgia, 67% of Medicaid recipients are children, 50% of all childbirths are covered by Medicaid, and 75% of seniors living in nursing homes rely on Medicaid; this vote makes every single one of those Georgians less safe and less healthy.”
