Help Move Georgia Forward
Rep. Buddy Carter: “I advocated to make more substantial cuts.”
After voting for the GOP budget bill that would enact the largest cut to Medicaid in history, taking away insurance from 750,000 Georgians, GOP Senate candidate and “MAGA warrior” Rep. Buddy Carter outlined his desire to go even further, saying in a recent radio interview that he “advocated to make more substantial cuts,” and he “wanted to cut Medicaid more.”
Carter serves as the Chair of the Health Subcommittee of the Energy and Commerce Committee, which already approved over $900 billion in cuts to Medicaid that the GOP is using to fund tax breaks for billionaires and the ultra wealthy, while Georgians suffer.
“Buddy Carter doesn’t just support the massive cuts to Medicaid moving through Congress, he’s directly responsible for them, and wants to rip affordable health care away from even more working families in Georgia,” said Democratic Party of Georgia Senior Communications Advisor Devon Cruz. “How many more Georgians have to be put at risk of losing their health care before ‘MAGA warrior’ Buddy Carter is finally satisfied?”
