Collins’ digs come as Dooley’s campaign launch has been largely overshadowed by coverage of his abysmal coaching record

On day one of Derek Dooley’s Senate campaign, MAGA extremist and GOP U.S. Senate candidate Rep. Mike Collins took multiple shots at the failed and fired former Tennessee football coach:

  1. Collins trashed Dooley for his losing coaching record, which was “widely seen as a failure.”
  2. Collins attacked Dooley for having no legislative experience.
  3. Collins launched an attack video online, claiming that the only thing Dooley’s record has to show for itself is that he “spent his life on the sidelines.

Collins’ attacks began before Dooley even officially got in the race as Collins spent the weekend telling Georgians that the GOP nominee for U.S. Senate “should, at a bare minimum, be someone who’s been in the fight, or at least some tiny level, for the America first agenda.”

“Georgia Republicans couldn’t go a single day without infighting as this chaotic, messy primary continues to heat up,” said Democratic Party of Georgia Senior Communications Advisor Devon Cruz. “If yesterday is any sign of what’s to come, Republicans should prepare for a brawl that promises to leave the eventual nominee badly bruised and ill-prepared to ask for Georgians’ vote.”
