Largest-Scale Effort in Georgia Political History a Product of Georgia’s Growing Diversity and Increasing Power of Latinx Voters

ATLANTA – Today, the Democratic Party of Georgia announced a historic Latinx Bilingual Canvass Weekend of Action taking place throughout the state during Labor Day weekend to support Stacey Abrams, Sarah Riggs Amico, and Democrats across Georgia. The unprecedented effort reflects the growing diversity of Georgia’s population and the increasing power of Latinx voters. The effort is part of the Democratic Party of Georgia’s commitment to engage and serve the growing Latinx community.

These bilingual canvasses will take place in Savannah, Douglasville, Norcross, Gainesville, Marietta, and Columbus.

The Democratic Party of Georgia is committed to investing in the growing Latinx electorate as part of our diverse coalition ahead of the 2018 election.

“Latinx voters are one of the fastest growing groups in the state of Georgia and a key to Democrats winning is engaging and turning out the Latinx community,” said State Representative Brenda Lopez. “By organizing this unprecedented Weekend of Action, the Democratic Party of Georgia is showing its commitment to the Latinx community. If we organize and give Latinx Georgians a reason to vote, these voters will turn out in numbers we have not seen before.”
