Today in Marietta, Rick Jackson stood next to President Trump at Wheeler High School in Marietta and admitted to his face that he’s running to be “Trump’s favorite governor.”

This is the starkest sign yet that Jackson will always fight for Trump over Georgians and push the same extreme MAGA policies no matter how much they hurt our state.

WATCH JACKSON ADMIT HE’S RUNNING TO BE “TRUMP’S FAVORITE GOVERNOR”:

In his remarks Trump also boasted that “The Golden Age of America is upon us,” despite the fact that 500,000 Georgians have lost healthcare in the past few months and prices have risen dramatically due to MAGA policies that both Trump and Jackson vehemently support.

“Rick Jackson has made it clear in no uncertain terms that he’ll always fight for Trump and his MAGA policies – no matter how badly they hurt Georgians,” said Democratic Party of Georgia spokesperson Jake Strickland. “While Georgians struggle with rising costs and healthcare that’s more inaccessible than ever, Slick Rick would rather stand with Trump than stand with the people of our state – and that’s exactly why he’s the wrong choice to be governor.”

Jackson has made his likeness to Trump a key selling point of his campaign – even as Trump’s policies hurt Georgia. The president is 14 points underwater in Georgia, according to Fox News.

  • Jackson has previously told voters that he will be “Trump’s favorite governor” and that he will be “Trump with a Southern tone.”
  • Jackson has made clear that he’ll govern “just like Trump,” and told the AJC that he “couldn’t name a single White House policy he disagrees with.”

If elected, Jackson would push the same Trump exact policies – no matter how much they hurt Georgians.

  • He admitted to supporting Trump’s Big Ugly Bill because it lowered his taxes – even as it kicked 500,000 Georgians off their healthcare.
  • He supports Trump’s tariffs that have been a “gut punch” to small businesses because he profited off these policies. He has been silent on Trump’s latest tariffs on Canada, one of Georgia’s top trading partners.
  • Jackson has strongly supported Trump’s attacks on Georgia elections, with the AJC writing that he has “echoed the president’s false claims of widespread election fraud” and POLITICO writing that he has been “adamant” that the 2020 election was stolen.
    • In new AJC reporting in July, Jackson was revealed to have said “what happened in 2020 is just terrible” and that it’s “really easy to believe that, for the last 40 years, Fulton County has been cheating on voting.”
