ICYMI: Personal Income in Georgia Spikes 64% Thanks to Democrats’ COVID-19 Relief

June 23, 2021

According to data released by the nonpartisan Bureau of Economic Analysis this week, personal income in Georgia rose at an annual rate of 64% in the first three months of 2021, largely thanks to relief provided in the American Rescue Plan.

Georgia was not alone – personal income rose across the entire country in the first quarter of 2021 after decreasing in over half the country during the final quarter of 2020. In Georgia, personal income decreased 11% in the last three months of 2020.

“Make no mistake – the economic rebound we are seeing today is because of the American Rescue Plan, which every Georgia Democrat supported and every Georgia Republican opposed,” said Rebecca Galanti, spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Georgia. “Thanks to the Biden-Harris administration and Democrats in Congress, Georgians are getting back to work, COVID-19 is getting under control, and businesses are once again thriving. President Biden’s economic plan is working.”
