Help Move Georgia Forward
Yesterday, the Biden-Harris administration announced the first ten drugs selected for Medicare drug price negotiation, a direct result of President Biden and Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act. This provision now allows Medicare to negotiate lower prescription drug costs, which will cut prescription drug costs for millions of Americans.
“For decades, our seniors have overpaid for life-saving medication while Big
Pharma pockets billions. Thanks to President Biden and Democrats standing up to those special interests and passing the Inflation Reduction Act, that’s changing. Medicare price negotiation will reduce prescription drug costs for millions of Americans, putting an end to the days of choosing between medications and groceries or rent,” said Congresswoman Nikema Williams, Chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia. “Meanwhile, Georgia Republicans in Congress unanimously voted against allowing Medicare to negotiate lower prices and are still threatening to roll back the IRA. That’s why it’s critical that we reelect President Biden and Vice President Harris to keep fighting for affordable health care for all.”
