During his speech, Trump said that Georgians “gotta elect Burt [Jones], that whole group, that whole group”, but had no mention of Dooley
Earlier today, new reporting revealed that Dooley recently declared in secret audio that “Trump lost Georgia”
While attending Donald Trump’s event in Rome, Georgia, failed and fired former Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley found himself on the receiving end of a major snubbing after not getting brought up on stage or getting a single shout out from the president he desperately wants an endorsement from.
Earlier today, new reporting from the Washington Examiner revealed secret audio that includes Derek Dooley admitting that Trump lost the state of Georgia in 2020. Before and during his speech, Donald Trump once again pushed baseless, debunked claims over the 2020 election.
Dooley’s admission puts him squarely at odds with his primary opponents Buddy Carter and Mike Collins, and deepens the unhealed wound between Gov. Brian Kemp and Donald Trump that was reopened after Kemp decided to endorse Dooley last summer.
“Derek Dooley has once again found himself on the field defeated and embarrassed after he undermined Donald Trump,” said Democratic Party of Georgia Senior Communications Advisor Devon Cruz. “It’s a tough day to be Brian Kemp’s hand-picked flailing U.S. Senate candidate.”
