Yesterday, a group of Georgians gathered ahead of the holiday season to speak out against Donald Trump’s failing economy that is hiking prices on groceries, slashing jobs, and making life harder for Georgians across the state.

MAGA warrior” Buddy Carter, MAGA extremist Mike Collins, and failed and fired former Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley have all stood behind Donald Trump’s agenda that is wrecking Georgia’s economy:

  • Buddy Carter praised Trump for his tariffs and told Georgians to “be ready” for some “short-term pain.”
  • Mike Collins told Georgians that “Trump’s tariff strategy works” despite the effects they’re having on hardworking families.
  • Derek Dooley celebrated Trump’s tariffs that have jacked up prices and eaten up more of Georgian’s budgets.

Recent reporting from WMAZ found that “grocery store prices continue to climb” in Georgia as a result of Trump’s tariffs.

  • “I’ve always believed that if you work hard, you get what you’re earning,” said Lester Ortiz, a young Georgian. “I work really, really hard, not just for myself, but for my mom and for my siblings but it’s harder and harder with the price of everything rising.”
  • “We started seeing the cost of living stuff really started to impact us at the grocery store,” said Jerry Prine, a retired Georgian living on a fixed income. “What I’m doing right now is going through and whacking as much of the way of the expenses as I can, and I’m still not going to break even after all.”
  • “I know here in our backyard, we have families who now are struggling to pay their utility bills, or they’re having to make the hard choice of keeping the electricity on or going without food because their kids have to turn in their homework and they don’t want to set their kids back,” said Nora Pullen, a Fayette County mom and food pantry volunteer. “It really is grim. It’s grim and deeply disconcerting.”
