As August recess comes to an end, Georgia’s GOP U.S. Senate candidates are entering the next season of this already “combustible” primary after putting up abysmal performances over the last month of summer.
A look down memory lane:
To start the month off, failed and fired former football coach Derek Dooley officially launched his campaign for U.S. Senate, which quickly devolved into a flood of mockery over his disastrous coaching record that earned him widespread backlash from right-wing radio hosts:

After launching his campaign in July, MAGA extremist Rep. Mike Collins was recently caught lying to a constituent about the massive cuts to Medicaid he supported in Donald Trump’s budget law and consequently faced backlash from the residents of his district right before kicking off his campaign with an event in Jackson:

Meanwhile, hundreds of Georgians held a protest and townhall in Savannah to speak out against “MAGA warrior” Rep. Buddy Carter’s support for Donald Trump’s harmful budget law, while he was also getting hit by both Collins and Dooley for his inability to “move the needle” despite spending millions of dollars on ads and being part of the “political establishment” after 11 years in Congress:

The last month of the race has made one thing clear: it will leave whoever makes it out as the nominee badly bruised and battered heading into the general election.
