Georgia Democrats Prepare for Augusta Fellowship
Opening of Augusta field office coincides with State Committee meeting

Richmond County – In less than two weeks, Democrats will travel to Augusta to convene a state committee meeting and the opening of their first regional field office outside of the Atlanta area.

The Greene Street field office in Augusta signifies “a new vision for Georgia Democrats,” says Mike Berlon, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Georgia. “Augusta is one of Georgia’s great cities, and our goal is to have a year-round presence there. We will conduct party business at the state committee meeting while enjoying fellowship at the grand opening afterwards.”

Augusta has long been a democratic stronghold in state politics. This assembly of committee members and dedicated citizens will represent the first party meeting in recent memory held in the Garden City.

“Our Augusta field office is another step toward connecting with middle-class Georgians and delivering our message of job creation and educational opportunity,” concluded Berlon.

The state committee meeting will be held at the Marriott at Two Tenth Street at 1pm on March 26th. The field office at 1101 Greene St. will celebrate its grand opening immediately afterwards.
