The Democratic Party of Georgia issued the following statement in response to Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue’s visit to Georgia today:

“Trump’s failed response to the coronavirus pandemic has devastated our state, with 5,400 lives lost and millions of Georgia families scrambling to figure out how to ensure their children are safe as they return to school, but Sonny Perdue refused to acknowledge these realities during his visit today,” said Georgia Democratic Party spokesperson Maggie Chambers. “Because of Trump’s incompetent leadership, Georgia parents and teachers are stuck in an impossible, confusing situation, and students are thrown into limbo. Georgians aren’t looking for cheap photo ops that only try and distract us from this administration’s failures. We need leadership that will finally get serious about the pandemic and implement a plan to get our economy and health back on track so kids can go back to school safely. We need Joe Biden.”
