Atlanta Journal-Constitution: “If the intent of the FBI’s raid was to discourage Fulton County voters or scare them from going to the polls, it does not appear to be working.”
Winder, GA – Today, faith leaders held a press conference outside of the State Election Board meeting and warned that potentially moving forward with a vicious attack on voting rights will awaken a giant and result in an unprecedented mobilization in Georgia this November.
This marks the first meeting of the Georgia State Election Board since the FBI raid in Fulton County. Members of the State Election Board are election deniers who are pushing to seize control of Fulton County elections. In a Truth Social post earlier today, Donald Trump called for a state takeover of Fulton County elections.
Earlier today, a new column in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution outlined how Georgia voters “believed the raid in Fulton County will make Black voters only more determined to cast their votes in 2026, not less so. If the intent of the FBI’s raid was to discourage Fulton County voters or scare them from going to the polls, it does not appear to be working.”

“We will fight to protect democracy like you have never seen before. We will fight until hell freezes over, and then we will fight on the ice,” said Reverend Jay Augustine, Big Bethel AME Church.
“We stand on the ground of those who have gone before us and we say that we are ready for this. We are qualified as voters, those who hold up liberty and justice. We should not grow tired, but find strength and look forward to the fight,” said Reverend Willie “Bo” Barber II, Prospect AME Church.
“The threats and the attacks actually cause us to engage in even more aggressive acts of voter education, registration, and mobilization as we move towards November elections,” said Reverend Dr. Cynthia Hale, Ray of Hope Christian Church. “The voters of Georgia gave evidence of this in 2020, remember? An unprecedented number of voters turned out at a time when voter suppression was at an all time high, because the people of Georgia were determined that no one is going to take this precious, sacred right. We didn’t back down then, and we are not backing down now.”
“We’re going to fight. We’re going to march. We’re going to educate. We’re going to mobilize. We’re going to strategize. And we’re going to make our state the best voting state in the entire country. God bless Georgia. And Georgia, keep on moving,” said Reverend Timothy McDonald, First Iconium Baptist Church.
