ATLANTA — Following Reverend Raphael Warnock’s first place finish in the Georgia Senate special election, Democratic Party of Georgia Chair Nikema Williams released the following statement:

“I’m proud to congratulate Reverend Raphael Warnock on his first place finish in Georgia’s Senate special election and stand behind his campaign 100%. Reverend Warnock’s strong grassroots support across our state demonstrates his commitment to fighting for all Georgia families and his ability to win the run-off election against unelected political mega-donor Senator Kelly Loeffler. After spending months — and millions — on a divisive intraparty battle, Loeffler has just two months to piece the GOP back together and win back the voters she alienated with her out-of-touch campaign. But while Loeffler and her right-wing allies struggle to rewrite her record of siding with the most extreme elements in her party while covering up for her stock trading scandal and numerous conflicts of interest, Reverend Warnock will be focused on fighting for Georgians’ voting rights, expanding access to health care, and bringing opportunity to all families in our state.”
