Dooley family has received tens of millions in Georgia taxpayer dollars under the Kemp administration’s supervision
Dooley’s Senate Campaign boosted by those profits
New reporting today uncovered a corruption and pay-to-play politics scandal that is rocking Derek Dooley’s campaign for U.S. Senate and revealing his deep insider connections as he tries to run as a political outsider in the Republican runoff.
In response to the new reporting, Democratic Party of Georgia Chair Charlie Bailey released the following statement:
“New details revealing that Derek Dooley has benefited from state corruption and pay-to-play politics are deeply concerning.
“This is what we know: state records show that the Dooley family received tens of millions of dollars in state awards from officials under Brian Kemp’s supervision while the Dooley family funneled tens of thousands of dollars to Kemp. Now, those profits are boosting Dooley’s run for U.S. Senate.
“As Republicans continue to mire themselves in corruption and chaos in the runoff, it’s clear that they’re now stuck with two scandal-ridden GOP U.S. Senate candidates. Georgians deserve so much better.”
This most recent scandal is just the latest ethics issue to scramble the Republican U.S. Senate primary after Mike Collins was previously criticized for paying his chief-of-staff’s girlfriend with official taxpayer dollars, when she did no work.
