Please see below for a statement from Democratic Party of Georgia Senior Communications Advisor Devon Cruz on the results of the GOP U.S. Senate primary:

“After months of an already long, messy GOP primary, extreme Trump loyalist Mike Collins and ‘I’m going to support every policy that President Trump and his administration ran on’ Derek Dooley are locked into what is sure to be an even more chaotic runoff election that will leave the eventual nominee terminally inseparable from the increasingly unpopular president heading into the General Election.

“Between now and June 16th, both candidates are going to continue to try their hardest to prove who will be the more obedient, loyal puppet for Donald Trump. Georgians deserve better than that and we’ll make sure to continue working towards resoundingly reelecting Senator Ossoff in November.”

Collins and Dooley’s Own Words Prove They’ve Been Dragged To the Right to Appease Trump:

  • Mike Collins:
    • Collins has proven himself as one of the most extreme members of Congress, consistently voting for Donald Trump’s harmful agenda.
    • Collins told Georgians that he’s “not worried about the tariffs” and he thinks “it’s good” despite the effects they’re having on hardworking families.
    • Collins said that Trump is doing a “fantastic job” on the war in Iran.
    • Collins voted against extending critical Affordable Care Act tax credits.

  • Derek Dooley:
    • Dooley said at a campaign event “I’m going to support every policy that President Trump and his administration ran on.”
    • Dooley praised Trump’s tariffs as “a good tool” responsible for “great deals” even as Georgians suffer from skyrocketing prices.
    • Dooley said he’s “very supportive” of Trump’s war in Iran.

    • Dooley opposed extending critical Affordable Care Act tax credits.
