This week, GOP State Senator Greg Dolezal released an AI-generated campaign video full of viciously Islamophobic imagery. In response, DPG Chair Charlie Bailey released the following statement:
“The video posted by Senator Dolezal is a shameful betrayal of the values we claim to hold as Americans and as people of faith. To portray our Muslim friends, neighbors, and constituents with such open contempt inflames prejudice and feeds the worst impulses of the human heart. Scripture teaches that the tongue has the power of life and death, and rhetoric like his sows division, stokes fear, and places innocent people in harm’s way. I pray he reflects deeply on the weight of his words, because bigotry wrapped in political speech is still bigotry and has no place in the leadership of this state.”
