DPG Chair Charlie Bailey released the following statement after Buddy Carter, who calls himself a MAGA warrior loyal to Donald Trump, jumped in the senate race:
“Buddy Carter jumping out of the gate as a self-described ‘MAGA warrior’ only means that over the next eighteen months he will have to own Donald Trump’s tariffs that are increasing costs for Georgia businesses and families, Medicaid cuts, anti-abortion extremism, devastating budget cuts hitting seniors, veterans, and kids, and so much more.
“Georgia Republicans are clearly heading towards a messy, chaotic, and disastrous primary. Meanwhile, Georgia Democrats remain laser-focused on building the energy needed to re-elect Senator Ossoff, elect a Democratic Governor, and win races up and down the ballot next November.”
