This week, a month from the start of early voting for the statewide Public Service Commission elections, the Democratic Party of Georgia announced its multi-pronged organizing effort to get voters to the polls for Dr. Alicia Johnson and Peter Hubbard. DPG’s organizing investment, which includes twice-weekly phone banks, local canvass leader training, and a coordinated literature piece, is unprecedented for a down-ballot race in an off-cycle election year.

“The Democratic Party of Georgia is committed to organizing all year round, all across the state, at every level of the ticket – and Georgia voters will see that commitment in action when they get a phone call or a knock on their door ensuring they have a plan to vote for Dr. Alicia Johnson and Peter Hubbard for Public Service Commission,” said DPG Chair Charlie Bailey.

More about DPG’s organizing efforts in Public Service Commission races:

County Organizing Lead Program: The DPG has launched its new County Organizing Lead program, which trains DPG county committee leaders to recruit for and host canvasses in their own communities and provides them with targeted walk lists and canvassing scripts in both English and Spanish.

Phone Banks: DPG is running twice-weekly volunteer phone banks to likely voters to help them make a plan to vote in the PSC races.

Literature: DPG produced a coordinated literature piece promoting both Democratic candidates and sharing voting information that is already being distributed on the doors by canvassers.
