ATLANTA – Today, Democratic Party of Georgia (DPG) Chairwoman Nikema Williams released the following statement on proactive measures the Party is taking to combat the spread of COVID-19.

“Out of an abundance of caution for public health, we have decided to postpone all party events for the foreseeable future, including DPG’s State Celebration scheduled for March 21st. The Democratic Party of Georgia takes the concerns of public health professionals extremely seriously, and we are putting the health and safety of Georgians first.

Our team is working with all event attendees and sponsors to honor ticket purchases as we postpone these events for a later date.  We will reschedule when it is safe to do so and continue to monitor the situation.

Our voter protection program and hotline will continue to operate throughout this period to serve all Georgia voters.”
