DPG Chair DuBose Porter’s Statement on Anniversary of September 11th

Atlanta, GA – Democratic Party of Georgia Chair DuBose Porter released the following statement on the anniversary of September 11th.

“Today marks six years since Congress designated September 11th as the National Day of Service and Remembrance. Out of an unfathomable tragedy 14 years ago was born an opportunity for Americans to demonstrate our resilience and character by giving of ourselves to others.

“As we remember the lives of the police, firefighters, rescue workers, and citizens lost, let this day serve as a reminder to honor their legacy by offering our hearts, minds, and hands to strengthen our communities and forge a better Nation.

“By uniting for a greater purpose, we show that—even in the face of adversity—our country will never stand down. We will fight for our values, we will weather the storm, and we will do these things because we will do them together.”
