Today, on the first day of the general election, Democratic Party of Georgia Chair Charlie Bailey held a press call outlining the case against extreme Donald Trump loyalist Mike Collins after he became the state’s GOP U.S. Senate nominee following a nearly year-long bruising, battering primary.
Collins has made himself terminally inseparable from Donald Trump and backed his extreme agenda even when it hurts Georgians. Over the next five months, the Democratic Party of Georgia will hold Collins accountable for his record and ensure he does not get near the U.S. Senate.
Collins Is An Extreme Trump Loyalist Who Is Wrong for Georgia:
- In Congress, Mike Collins voted to double health insurance premiums for more than a million Georgians while giving the wealthiest Americans and corporate America yet another tax break.
- Collins is under a bipartisan House Ethics Committee investigation for allegedly using taxpayer dollars to illegally pay his staffer’s girlfriend.
- Collins has made multiple headlines for his “racist, xenophobic, or antisemitic” activity.
- Collins said that Trump is doing a “fantastic job” on the war in Iran.

“He’s had a long history of bigoted antisemitic remarks. He socialized with a known Nazi at the New York Young Republicans annual gala, just two months after reports came out that the group’s statewide counterpart had been disbanded because of a group chat that made Nazi jokes and praised Hitler,” said Democratic Party of Georgia Chair Charlie Bailey. “You’ve got someone that clearly cares a lot about himself, cares a lot about the most extreme parts of our society, and won’t distance himself from those.”
