Dooley criticized for being less “visible” than his opponents in this “combustible” primary

Failed and fired former Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley is taking heat for being MIA on the campaign trail. Today, Dooley faltered on The Martha Zoller Show when asked why he wasn’t “accessible and visible” like primary opponents MAGA “warrior” Rep. Buddy Carter and MAGA extremist Rep. Mike Collins.

  • Martha Zoller: Mike Collins and Buddy Carter have been very accessible and visible around the state. Will we see the same from you?
  • Derek Dooley: I hope more so I’m, you know, every Sunday night, I get in my truck [… ]

Both Carter and Collins have publicly criticized Dooley, with Carter telling voters Dooley “wasn’t a star. He wasn’t a successful coach either,” and Collins slamming Dooley for being absent from the state for 25 years.

“While Derek Dooley is taking heat from both of his primary opponents, Georgians want to know when they will actually see him on the campaign trail,” said Democratic Party of Georgia Senior Communications Advisor Devon Cruz. “All of this early infighting makes it very clear that this is going to be a race to the right that leaves the eventual nominee badly bruised for a general election.”
