Today, following Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson being sworn in to the Supreme Court, Congresswoman Nikema Williams, Chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia, released the following statement:
“Justice Jackson is a brilliant legal mind with the utmost character, integrity, and understanding of the law and she is a much needed addition to our nation’s highest court. Today’s historic swearing in means the Supreme Court better reflects the diversity of our nation – and it is only possible thanks to Georgia voters, who sent President Joe Biden to the White House and secured the Senate Democratic majority by electing Senators Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock. As conservative Supreme Court justices proactively impose their views from the bench, Justice Jackson will be a fair arbiter of justice for the American people.”
