ATLANTA – Today, in response news that Insurance Commissioner Jim Beck has been indicted for 38 counts of fraud, including embezzlement of over $2 million dollars, Democratic Party of Georgia chairwoman Nikema Williams issued the following statement:

“Commissioner Beck has abused his power over years of public service to enrich himself, and committed fraud against the very citizens he is supposed to serve and protect. As Insurance Commissioner, he should be protecting the people of Georgia from corruption and fraud, but instead he has shown that he is exactly who they should fear. He has zero credibility to continue in his role, and should resign immediately. “
