In recognition of the beginning of Filipino American History Month, Democratic Party of Georgia Chairwoman Nikema Williams issued the following statement:

“This month, we celebrate Georgia’s Filipino American communities and the contributions they’ve made to our state and nation. From serving and sacrificing in World War II to preserving a vibrant cultural tradition and identity, Filipino Americans’ history embodies kabayanihan – heroism or selflessness. As one of Georgia’s largest Asian American communities, Filipino Americans are an important part of our state’s story and future. We invite everyone to join Georgia Democrats this month in honoring Filipino Americans’ rich history, recognizing their immense impact in Georgia, and recommitting ourselves to building a community where diversity is celebrated and everyone can achieve the American dream.”
