Help Move Georgia Forward
Thanks to President Biden and Democrats’ leadership, 19,000 Georgia jobs were created in April, and unemployment remains at all-time low of 3.1%
Today, the U.S. Department of Labor announced that Georgia added 19,000 jobs in April. This report follows a year of record job growth and low unemployment rates in Georgia and across the country under President Biden and Democrats’ leadership. In response, Rebecca Galanti, spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Georgia, released the following statement:
“When President Biden took office, more than 221,000 Georgians were unemployed, with many relying on unemployment insurance to feed their families and keep a roof over their heads. Today, the unemployment rate in Georgia is at an all-time low of 3.1% as the number of Americans forced to rely on unemployment programs fell across the country to its lowest level in over half a century. Millions of families have moved from government support to earning a paycheck. Make no mistake – this historic progress is the result of President Biden’s economic plan to grow the economy from the bottom up and middle out – and the work of Georgia Democrats to get it done.
“Now, the president and Georgia Democrats’ top economic priority is tackling inflation and working to lower costs for families everywhere from the gas pump to grocery stores. Meanwhile, congressional Republicans have proposed a plan that could raise taxes on working families and jeopardize programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. While Democrats are laser-focused on lowering costs – like they’ve lowered unemployment – Republicans are more focused on pushing their extreme, ultra-MAGA agenda.”
