Upon the announcement that Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms will not seek re-election in this year’s mayoral race, Congresswoman Nikema Williams, Chairwoman of the Democratic Party of Georgia, released the following statement:

“We are grateful for Mayor Bottoms’ leadership over the past several years and wish her and her family all the best as she finishes out her term. In the coming months, we look forward to engaging with voters throughout Georgia’s capital and electing another strong Democratic mayor for the city of Atlanta come November.”
