As Pride Month celebrations have begun in Georgia and across the nation, the Democratic Party of Georgia released the following statement:

“This month, Georgia Democrats are proud to uplift our state’s vibrant LGBTQ+ community as we rededicate ourselves to advocating for a more just and equal state where every Georgian can freely and safely be their authentic self,” said Congresswoman Nikema Williams, Chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia. “While we celebrate Pride, we also recognize that the struggle for equal rights and representation is far from over – especially as efforts to roll back LGBTQ+ rights continue throughout the country. Georgia Democrats are committed to fighting back against hatred and discrimination in any form, including despicable policies in our own state targeting transgender children. We stand alongside LGBTQ+ Georgians this Pride Month and every month, and we will not rest until everyone has equal protection under the law.”
