Rick Jackson is now refusing to comment on a federal judge’s decision Tuesday to protect Georgia election workers against harassment from Trump’s DOJ. This comes as Jackson has previously expressed strong support for Trump’s intimidation efforts.
Speaking with 11Alive’s Faith Jessie Wednesday, DPG Chair Charlie Bailey highlighted Jackson’s longstanding support for Trump’s efforts to undermine Georgia elections. Jessie then noted on air that Jackson’s campaign is flat-out refusing to comment on this latest development.

Jackson has previously expressed strong support for these attacks on Fulton County election workers, and has embraced Trump’s election conspiracy theories throughout his campaign. POLITICO previously reported that Jackson is “adamant” the 2020 election was stolen, telling a crowd “[t]hat was totally ridiculous what happened in 2020 and our people really let us down.”
Here’s more of what DPG Chair Bailey had to say on Jackson’s support for these attacks.
On Jackson’s refusal to comment: “When Fulton County filed this motion to quash to protect these election workers, he fully backed the […] invasive effort by the federal government. He had plenty to say then. Faith, so what’s he got to say now? And this is a typical politician. […] He wants to say he’s Trump’s favorite governor, and now he thinks the people of Georgia are too stupid to realize he said that a month and a half ago.”
On the importance of yesterday’s decision: “It’s a big win for democracy and for the people of Georgia. That’s the most important thing. I mean, you’ve got this out of control old fool in DC that is obsessed with the fact that he lost [an election] six years ago […] and his puppets, like Rick Jackson, fall all over themselves to bolster these conspiracy theories for one old man’s fragile ego.”
