As Burt Jones, Chris Carr, and Brad Raffensperger continue their complete silence on ICE abuses in Minnesota, one Republican candidate is now speaking out, begging the question: Don’t Georgia voters deserve to hear from leading candidates – who are all also statewide elected officials?

In an interview with The Macon Telegraph, Republican candidate for governor Clark Dean spoke at length about his views on ICE’s abuses in Minnesota. The interview comes after days of the leading GOP candidates hiding from voters and refusing to condemn the killing of American citizens, with WABE noting that “few Georgia Republicans” have been bothered to comment on ICE abuses at all. And it’s been crickets within the GOP field as the primary has devolved into a fast-moving race to the right and a hard-and-fast Trump loyalty test among the leading candidates.

“At a time when American citizens are being killed and our constitutional rights are under attack, Burt Jones, Chris Carr, and Brad Raffensperger refuse to let Georgians know where they stand. They’re so afraid of contradicting Trump that they’d rather just hide from the voters,” said Jake Strickland, communications advisor to the Georgia Democratic Party.
