Today is Georgia’s GOP U.S. Senate primary election, and over the last year, the “combustible,” “splintered,” race has been completely defined by constant, bitter infighting and desperate auditions for Donald Trump’s approval between “MAGA warrior” Buddy Carter, MAGA extremist Mike Collins, and failed, fired, loser former Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley who supports “every policy” the president ran on.
Throughout The Primary, Carter, Collins, and Dooley Have Torn Each Other Apart:
- The level of infighting in the GOP U.S. Senate primary has gotten so bad that it’s made national headlines – and become the last thing Republicans wanted in Georgia’s U.S. Senate race.
- Mike Collins has aggressively mocked both Buddy Carter and Derek Dooley, blasting the former Tennessee football coach as “failed, fired, and forgot-to-vote Derek Dooley” all over his campaign’s social media, while also belittling Carter with the nickname “Squeaker” and making fun of Carter’s height—consistently.
- Dooley has done his own fair share of attacks on Collins, using his campaign social media accounts to attack Collins frequently.
- Carter has slammed Dooley for failing to vote in over 20 years and went as far as saying that Dooley shouldn’t even be “eligible” to run for Senate.
Carter, Collins, and Dooley Have Been Dragged To The Right To Appease Trump:
- Carter, Collins, and Dooley have all tried to prove that they would be the most loyal, obedient puppet for Donald Trump if elected to the U.S. Senate.
- Whether it is lining up behind the harmful impacts of Trump’s budget law, backing the president’s illegal, economy-crushing tariffs, or standing by the highly unpopular war in Iran, all three GOP U.S. Senate candidates have made it clear they support Trump over what’s best for Georgians.
- According to recent coverage of the race from the New York Times, Carter, Collins, and Dooley “are more focused on outshining each other,” and have “angled for the endorsement of Mr. Trump,” over telling Georgians how they would serve them in the U.S. Senate.
Despite polling showing that most Georgians oppose Trump’s harmful budget law and that the majority of Americans think war with Iran was the wrong decision, that hasn’t stopped Carter, Collins, and Dooley from embracing Trump at every turn.
“Buddy Carter, Mike Collins, and Derek Dooley have spent this entire primary ripping each other apart, airing out each other’s dirty laundry, and getting as close as possible to Donald Trump and his harmful MAGA agenda,” said Democratic Party of Georgia Senior Communications Advisor Devon Cruz. “No matter who makes it out of the primary tonight, the eventual GOP nominee is going to be terminally inseparable from the increasingly unpopular president heading into the General Election.”
