A year into the Trump presidency, the administration’s cost-raising policies – which Burt Jones, Brad Raffensperger, and Chris Carr all support – are making life much more expensive for Georgia families.

New data from the Joint Economic Committee reveals that the cost of living in Georgia has increased by nearly $1,200 since Trump took office. Tariff tax increases have drastically driven up the cost of everyday goods, and Georgians are spending nearly 7 percent more on groceries as a result. Trump’s policies have also jacked up the cost of rent, with Georgians spending an average of $276 more on housing than before Trump took office.

Jones, Carr, and Raffensperger have all supported the disastrous policies that have driven this cost-of-living crisis. All three supported Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” that is driving up costs and putting manufacturing jobs on the chopping block all across our state. They also strongly backed the tariff tax increases that are jacking up costs for Georgia workers and businesses.

“A year into Trump’s presidency, Georgia families are struggling. The cost of everything, from rent to groceries to health care, has skyrocketed – but rather than fight for solutions, Republicans like Burt Jones, Chris Carr, and Brad Raffensperger have made it clear they will defer to Trump’s MAGA agenda every step of the way, which Georgians simply cannot afford,” said Jake Strickland, communications advisor to the Democratic Party of Georgia.
