Collins backs tariffs as Georgians pay the cost

Today, GOP U.S. Senate candidate Rep. Mike Collins voted in favor of upholding Donald Trump’s tariffs on Canada which have led to major price hikes and stuck Georgians with footing the bill.

The vote comes after Collins, a multi-millionaire member of Congress, has stood firmly behind Trump’s tariffs and admitted that tariffs are already causing economic harm.

Collins has previously told Georgians that “Trump’s tariff strategy works” despite the obvious reality that Georgians are suffering.

Meanwhile, Georgia small businesses “grapple with uncertainty and Georgia’s top economist outlined that Trump’s tariffs “have raised prices for businesses and consumers.”

“Even as Georgians are the ones paying the costs of price-hiking tariffs, Mike Collins just can’t bring himself to stop bowing to Trump’s MAGA agenda and put Georgians first for once,” said Democratic Party of Georgia Senior Communications Advisor Devon Cruz. “Georgians deserve a U.S. Senator who is laser-focused on making life more affordable, not raising prices because Donald Trump says so.”
